no seriously. so a request was made on a KH comm for a repost of an image i didn't even know existed--someone apparently hacked the PC version of Re: CoM and made a height chart of all the Org members.
i'm not sure who made it, but it's...pretty cool, IMHO. i wish i knew who did; i'd love for them to make one with Sora and the rest of the gang--it's a good resource. also LOL their bead-pulls on the fronts of their coats and the hoods are floating like there's no gravity.
in any case, back on topic. in looking at this picture, i have come to one single conclusion: no matter how you slice it, these are some pretty screwy proportions here. O_o i had been under the impression that Roxas, as a 15-year-old boy, was probably about five feet tall. in America, that's pretty diminutive, but the average height for a grown male is a full two and a half inches taller here than in Japan (or it was two years ago when the game was made, and since the game was created there i assume that familiar height standards were used), so given that Sora does appear to be somewhat short-statured, i had always assumed that he and Roxas hovered right around the 5' mark. however, but by that standard, Larxene crests six feet. now...that is
very tall for a woman. and pretty much unheard of for a Japanese woman. that would also make Lexaeus like...just over
eight feet tall, which is...ridiculous, considering the current record for "world's tallest living man" is...i believe 8'5"? and that's as a result of a tumor on his pituitary gland. [insert Lex saying, "Eet's not a
tuumah!" here]
so i started over. Lexaeus is...very tall. i might even say he's hugenormous. i tend to cap out height at around 7' before it's just...absurd. as an individual who barely clears 5' herself, 7' seems pretty insane from down here, so... but since it looks like Lex is intended to be exaggeratedly tall, let's say he's 7'6". that's a nice insanely tall--a smidge taller than Andre the Giant. that would make Roxas about 4'5". o_o dear gods. but seriously, raising the bar by much of anything just makes
everyone's proportions absurd... but taking it down any just makes Roxas laughably small. 4'5" still works...much smaller than that and we somehow rob the poor boy of his dignity along with his stature. D:
but the rest follows rather logically from there. Larxene would stand at just around 5'4", Marluxia at about 6'4", Luxord at 6'2", Demyx at 6'0", Axel at a hair over 6'3", Saïx even with Luxord at 6'2", Zexion at 5'10" (though i never pegged him for much above 5'6", honestly), Vexen and Xaldin at 6'6"ish, Xigbar at just a smidge taller than Demyx, barely 6'1", and Xemnas at a strong 6'5". seems a bit odd to have most of the Org at >6' like that when the average Squeenix character caps out at about 5'7" or so, but having Roxas
any smaller just seems insane.
this means Sora, Roxas, Kairi, and Naminé are all legally midgets.
